Cynthia Harris Bowman, C’91, is a distinguished Spelman College alumna, accomplished Fortune 100 executive, philanthropist, and First Lady of Morehouse College whose career reflects a deep commitment to leadership, diversity, talent development, and organizational excellence.
As an executive at Bank of America for more than 17 years, Cynthia became a respected diversity and inclusion leader, championing initiatives that expanded opportunity, strengthened organizational culture, and created meaningful impact. She continues to build on that legacy as Vice President, Global Talent at Apple, where she helps develop exceptional leaders and cultivates high-performing, inclusive organizations.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Cynthia embodies the values of leadership, service, excellence, and community that are central to the Spelman College experience. Her dedication and longstanding engagement with the Spelman alumnae community reflect a lifelong commitment to using leadership as a catalyst for opportunity and positive change.
True to the Spelman College hymn, Cynthia Harris Bowman is ever-faithful in the fight to lift as she climbs and to inspire students across both the Spelman and Morehouse communities.
Shaun Robinson, C’84
Emmy Award–winning journalist, TV host, producer, author, and founder & president of the S.H.A.U.N. Foundation for Girls
A Detroit native, proud Spelman graduate, and longtime Los Angeles resident, Shaun Robinson is an Emmy Award–winning journalist, television personality, author, producer, philanthropist, and champion of girls’ empowerment.
She is best known as the longtime co-host of Access Hollywood, where she interviewed many of the world’s biggest names and hosted red-carpet coverage of major awards shows and NBC’s Tournament of Roses Parade. Her news work includes contributions to NBC Nightly News, the Today show, MSNBC, and CNN, and she has guest-hosted The View. Before Hollywood, she anchored and reported in Miami, Austin, Milwaukee, Flint, and Detroit.
Shaun founded the S.H.A.U.N. Foundation for Girls, which supports grassroots charities focused on STEM, health, arts, unity, and neighborhoods. Her book, Exactly As I Am, gathers wisdom from accomplished women and teen girls on believing in yourself and earned Dove’s inaugural Real Beauty Award. She also created the One Girl, One Voice youth volunteerism movement and serves on advisory boards including Girl Up.
