Shanon Belle

President

Shanon Belle is from San Diego, CA. She graduated from Spelman College with a B.S. in Chemistry in 2008. She works as a flight attendant for Southwest Airlines and currently serves as President of the NAASC, Los Angeles Chapter.

One of her primary goals is to ensure that students of color have access to quality and affordable education.

Tamika Brady

Vice President

Tamika BradyTamika Brady, a San Diego native, graduated from Spelman in 2006 with a BA in Economics and MBA from Pepperdine University.

She is a business consultant with experience working in real estate, technology, and sales. She currently works for a technology and telecommunications company as a Manager of Real Estate for Portfolio Management and Strategic Planning.

In addition to her work, Tamika is the proud mother to her son Caleb and enjoys being an active member of the PTA where she serves as the Chair of the Literary Committee. 

She enjoys volunteering, promoting academic excellence, and encouraging college education.   Tamika is passionate about uplifting the next generation and believes education is the key to success.

Dr. Jordan Greer

Treasurer

Dr. Jordan GreerA native of Los Angeles, Dr. Jordan Greer (C’ 2012) previously served as the Student Relationship Chair from 2020-2022.

As the Associate Director at USC Race and Equity Center, she engages education practitioners in meaningful conversations about racial equity and seeks to co-develop real-world solutions that ensure the success of racially minoritized students in post-secondary education.

As the Treasurer of the NAASC-LA Chapter, Dr. Greer hopes to ensure access to all of her Spelman sisters who wish to connect through community service and sisterhood.

She currently serves the NAASC-LA chapter as Treasurer.

Andrea Mills

Financial SecretaryAndrea Mills

Andrea V. Mills graduated in 1976 from Spelman College – an Economics major. She earned a master’s degree, Applied Economics, from University of Michigan in 1979.

Upon returning to CA, she became an active NAASC-LA member in 1981. Since then, Andrea has served as corresponding, financial and recording secretary, chaplain, and recruitment (college fair) coordinator, and on committees.

A retired budget analyst (35 years, City of Los Angeles), she enjoys volunteering with church and community organizations.

Tobi SHannon

Scholarship ChairTobi Shannon

Tobi Shannon, C’2016, is the Scholarhip Chair for the Chapter. A native of NC, she was president of the Seattle-Tacoma chapter, before moving to LA to pursue an MBA & MPA.

Currently, Tobi works to dismantle the anti-Blackness that pervades our society, which includes being in community with her Spelman sisters!

Kia Bahner

Kia Bahner

Kia D. Bahner graduated with a B.A. in English, class of 1987.  A native of Nashville, TN, Kia has had a lifelong affiliation with Historical Black Colleges and Universities.

 
Having practically grown up around her parents’ alma mater, Fisk University, she has developed a keen sense of service to all.
 
She served as both Vice President and President of the Nashville Spelman Alumnae chapter.
 
Her career path has been in independent school admissions, and in that field she has made a priority of supporting young Black students
 
For the past three years, Kia has been active with  NAASCLA chapter as Assistant Recording Secretary and now as Co-chair of the Membership Committee.

Pia Days

Pia is a 2001 graduate of Spelman College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Drama and a 2004 graduate of UNC-Chapel Hill (MFA).
 
After service as Vice PResident with NAASC-LA, she became the Social Chaair (2016-present)
 
She is an actress an owner of Chocolate Tenders, LLC (Mobile Bartendering).
 
Pia is originally from Miami, FL and is a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.

Ericka Abram

Corresponding SecretaryEricka Adam
A native of Los Angeles, Ericka was raised in Oakland and grew up in Beverly Hills. The daughter of Black Panther Party leaders Elaine Brown and Masai Hewitt.

 
A 1992 graduate of Spelman College, Ericka remained in Georgia for several years working for CNN. Then she became the Director of Public Relations for the Tubman Museum in Macon. A move to Ohio led Ericka to the most rewarding and fulfilling work managing an art studio for young artists at Hattie Larlham, a residential medical facility for children with severe developmental disabilities.

Additionally, Ericka created and curated several exhibits in Ohio including Sistas Thrive Art Revolution (STAR), Rubber City V-day , and BLAkron. She also curated an exhibit, “Centennial Celebration”, for the University of Akron’s Shirla R. McClain Gallery.

Robin Dionne Smith

Robin Dionne Smith is a native of Washington, DC.  She received her BA in Theatre from Spelman College in Atlanta, Georgia in 1998.  Robin moved to LA in 2006 and joined the NAASCLA as a member.  
 
Robin has extensive experience as an actor but her life led her into corporate field management and training currently working as an Account Manager within the technology space.   After years of extensive travel for work, Robin is happy to have more time to commit to the chapter and is currently serving as Lip Revolt Chair and Corresponding Secretary Co-Chair.  She is also very active with DEI and recruiting minorities and HBCU alum.
 

Robin lives in Altadena, CA with her husband Wilson, and their dog Ginger.  When she is not working, she loves working out on her Peloton, boating, biking, hiking, and consuming as much Vitamin D as the sun can offer. 

She is also a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc, and loves both sisterhoods immensely.

Judy Carey Copes 1969, Sociology Major, Chaplin for NAASC-LA. Born, raised and educated in Detroit, Michigan. 

 
She is presently owner of JuAl Tutoring and Independent Project Consultant with Pearson.  Her passion is uplifting and inspiring future generations.

Trenee Sims

HistorianTrenee Sims

Trenee Sims is employed by the County of Los Angeles with nearly 25 years. She is currently a member of the National Council Of Negro Women, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
 
Trenee’s passions include spending time with her family, training her Boxer puppies, cooking, gardening, and restoring old homes. Trenee graduated from Spelman in 1986 with a degree in English.

Taylor Hunter

Taylor Hunter born and raised in California, graduated from Spelman in 2016 with a BS in Biology, and currently works for UCLA Health.

In her free time she loves to travel, coordinate international tours for women and is a coordinator for BGSC.

As an advocate of the HBCU experience and education she assists with chaperoning HBCU tours across the country.

Taylor loves taking on new opportunities that allow her to grow, learn and give back to her community.

 

Yvonne Anderson

Yvonne Anderson MPA – Class of 1974; from Washington. D.C.  Experienced Manager and Analyst with a demonstrated work history in local government administration.
 
Previously employed with the County of Los Angeles- Department of Mental Health as a Healthcare Budget Analyst.
